MUSIC - NAME - BAND (Jere, Heri, Andy, Killi)
We are talking about American, British, Irish, German, Indian and so on music, but is there something we would call a European one?
Jeremia takes Rock, Pop and classical elements and fuses this mixture with medieval sounds and structures.
Combined with his distinct historical sense, a christian background and a declared belief in Europe, Jeremia tries to give his continent a sound.
Till now(1987-2004) the band had the name "Jeremia", but it was confusing the audience when ever we played "a man called Jesus".
At the time the band was founded it was nothing more than a pun.
"J" is much more than a name!
It is our declaration of belief in Jesus and a very personal "Thank you"!
But as an soloartist I am still using the name "Jeremia".
JERE
(Vocals, Keyboard, Git.),
who writes the songs and the lyrics, started making music at the age of five. His first Guitar he bought when he was eight and five years later he started playing drums. Music is his life, so he even quitted school. During the "New Wave"-era he played with several bands, most of the time drums and later bass. Maybe his glamorous outfit was the main reason why he was asked to be the front man. This time was quite successful.
Together with a friend he founded "Go4it" and recorded the LP "Face the Music". He started working as a studio musician and was under contract at a German label.
1990 he was the winner of a radio contest, signed a new deal and made a video in New York.
Although the song was played five times a day in Austria, received a real wonderful feedback and even entered the charts, the record company couldn't manage to distribute the records in time. At least the whole work was just a waste of time. Bad luck!
From 1993 on he focused his doing on composing and arranging. 1997 he opened up his little Studio.
HERIBERT
METZKER (Drums),is one of the best drummers in Austria and a real good friend of mine. The first time we worked together was 1990.

TIEBER (Bass)was also a part of Jeremia 1990 and now he joined in again. He's great and do have so many bass guitars, you won't believe.

KILLIAN (Guitar)is part of "J" since 2003 and we are really proud about it, for he is not "just" a wonderful guitarist, he is also the coproducer of "a man called Jesus".
